Back in April I had the most fun designing a sweet little Blogger Date Nite for my new friends at Drizly, so when one of said new friends reached out and told me she knew someone who needed an event planner stat, I was oh-so-happy to help! She introduced me to Tanner who is just the absolute sweetest, and needed help planning a ten year anniversary party for he and his wife Jory... in just one week.
Needless to say I had my doubts about what I could accomplish in such a short amount of time, but I'm always up for a challenge and couldn't help myself from diving right in! The venue was secured (phew!) but the rest of the planning & design was up to yours truly.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: you're only as good as your vendor team. One of my favorite parts of being in this biz is getting to know so many wonderful creative pros who have quickly become my very best "friendors". I made some calls and within a day or two we had photography, florals, and cake covered by the best of the best.
Katie over at Bloom Floral Design rocked the flowers. I nearly squealed when I saw those giant pink peonies and how beautiful all of the blooms looked in their little tin canisters! Kate over at Oh Miss Kate is as sweet as her sugary creations and whipped up the most delicious cake in the couple's favorite flavors. And of course, my go-to-girl Emily Tebbetts didn't hesitate for a second when I asked her to photograph the evening. Tanner & Jory really prioritized having some really fun and beautiful photos of their family & friends, and Emily is the very, very best!
With the team secured and just a few days to plan, I got straight to work on a design concept. One of my favorite things is working in subtle, yet significant details into my designs, and I fell in love with the idea of using metals alongside some bright and fun pops of color. After all, tin is the official ten year anniversary gift! Some fun elements (loving that "Cheers!" sign!) and bright pops of color (3-foot balloons for the win!) brought the evening together, but I have to say, one of my absolute favorite parts is how Tanner & Jory's friends made the decor their own by using the dry erase walls at District Hall to leave loves notes and fun drawings for their favorite couple. I'm so impressed with what a fun and talented crew they were!
The night truly turned out beautifully and it was so fun to see Tanner & Jory's love celebrated with so many smiles, hugs, and sweet moments. Happy Anniversary, you two! Cheers to many more!
